Architectural concepts? What are they and how do you get one?
In today’s video, we’re going to talk about architectural concepts and the four key steps to a successful concept. I will also present the design process for my last semester project, which was an airplane hangar that I got a building permit for. Feel free to pause at any time, as there are helpful study notes on architecture and the design process in the video.
First of all, let’s talk about concepts and what they are and every architectural project should start with a concept which provides the basis for your design and decision making process when you define a concept, it literally means an abstract idea, a plan or intention, an idea or invention to help sell or advertise a product, so a concept can be anything, you can be inspired by birds, paintings, sculptures, etc.
The purpose of an architectural concept, also known as a party, is to make your project and approach cohesive and help sell your project. Think of it as your brick idea, what the story is and who the building is for.
